Mission Statement”

The mission of the Philadelphians Prison Ministries, Inc. is to communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ to men in prison and to bear witness to the love of God; to offer hope in the resurrection of his Son Jesus Christ; and to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ which affirms that “the old has passed away and the new has come.”

The goal is to change the way a criminal thinks by introducing to him new ways of dealing and thinking. We seek to do this through an emphasis on renewal of the whole person through:

•Weekly praise and worship services with strong Bible teaching where personal and spiritual growth is sparked;

•The weekly in-prison HELP support program which is a confrontive and cognitive program designed to learn and to apply Christian values and principles in dealing with everyday problems;

•Supportive housing through the HELP House, a transitional housing program for ex-offenders, where emphasis is placed on both the outward and inward person and provide the opportunity for a “new way of thinking and living” outside of crime.

"For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink:
I was a stranger, and ye took me in; Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me:
I was in prison, and ye came unto me."
Matthew 25:35-36
